The present invention relates to a method of preparing a pressure-sensitive adhesive comprising the steps of (i) providing an essentially solvent-free mixture comprising one or more free radically polymerizable monomers having one ethylenically unsaturated group and at least one free-radical polymerization initiator (ii) partially polymerizing said mixture to provide a partially polymerized mixture exhibiting a Brookfield viscosity of between 1,000 and 125,000 mPa.bullet.s at 20 ~C and a degree of conversion of monomers to polymer of between 30-60 wt. % with respect to the initial mass of the monomers prior to polymerization, (iii) adding one or more free-radical radiation polymerization initiators to the partially polymerized mixture to provide a radiation-curable precursor, (iv) applying the radiation-curable precursor to a substrate, and (v) further polymerizing the radiation-curable precursor by subjecting it to actinic irradiation to provide said pressure- sensitive adhesive.
La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé de préparation d'un adhésif sensible à la pression comprenant les étapes suivantes: (i) utilisation d'un mélange ne contenant sensiblement aucun solvant et comportant un ou plusieurs monomères susceptibles de subir une polymérisation radicalaire ayant un groupe éthyléniquement insaturé et au moins un initiateur de polymérisation radicalaire, (ii) polymérisation partielle dudit mélange aux fins de l'obtention d'un mélange partiellement polymérisé présentant une viscosité de Brookfield comprise entre 1 000 et 125 000 mPa s à 20 ·C et un degré de conversion des monomères en polymère compris entre 30 et 60 % en poids par rapport à la masse initiale des monomères avant la polymérisation, (iii) ajout d'un ou de plusieurs initiateurs de polymérisation radicalaire au mélange partiellement polymérisé aux fins de l'obtention d'un précurseur réticulable sous l'effet d'un rayonnement, (iv) application sur un substrat du précurseur réticulable par rayonnement, et (v) nouvelle polymérisation du précurseur réticulable sous l'effet d'un rayonnement par exposition de ce précurseur à un rayonnement actinique permettant d'obtenir ledit adhésif sensible à la pression.
