Process for the preparation of an N-acyl amino carboxylic acid by means of a carboxymethylation reaction. In this reaction, a reaction mixture is formed which contains a base pair, carbon monoxide, hydrogen and an aldehyde with the base pair conprising a carbamoyl compound and a carboxymethylation catalyst precursor. In a preferred embodiment, the carbamoyl compound and aldehyde are selected to yield an N-acyl amino carboxylic acid which is readily converted to N-(phosphonomethyl)glycine, or a salt or ester thereof.

L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'un acide N-acyl aminocarboxylique par une réaction de carboxyméthylation. Dans cette réaction, on forme un mélange réactionnel contenant une paire de bases, un monoxyde de carbone, un hydrogène et un aldéhyde, la paire de bases comprenant un composé carbamoyle et un précurseur de catalyseur de carboxyméthylation. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, le composé carbamoyle et l'aldéhyde sont sélectionnés pour produire un acide N-acyl aminocarboxylique, facilement transformé en N-(phosphonométhyl)glycine, ou en sel ou ester de ce dernier.
