ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed herein is a novel method for preparing propellant charges suitable for use in, among other things, the gas generating component of an air bag system. In particular, the components of the propellants are blended in mixing vessels such as a tote bin which are tumbled in order to mix the components of the charge. Tumbling is effected by tumbling mixer which contains no internal moving parts. The blended components are then pressed into pellets or other shapes to form the finished charge.
