The present invention relates to a method of preparing a ground dry animal feed with a predetermined water content. According to the method, there is added to a dry animal feed mixture an emulsion of water emulsified in a hydrophobic component having a melting point of at least 15 °C, suitably at least 20 °C, in such an amount that the animal feed obtains the predetermined water content. The emulsion can be added at any time after grinding of the components included in the dry animal feed, either to a ground component or to the dry animal feed mixture before pelletising, extruding or expanding, or after pelletising, extruding or expanding, or by a combination of the stated points of addition.

L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'aliments secs moulus ayant une teneur en eau prédéterminée. Selon le procédé, une émulsion d'eau émulsionnée dans un composant hydrophobe au point de fusion d'au moins 15 DEG C, judicieusement d'au moins 20 DEG C, est ajoutée à un mélange d'aliments secs pour animaux, la quantité d'aliments secs étant telle que l'on obtienne une teneur en eau prédéterminée. L'émulsion peut être ajoutée à un moment quelconque après le broyage des composants inclus dans les aliments secs pour animaux, soit à un composant moulu, soit au mélange d'aliments secs pour animaux avant la granulation, l'extrusion ou l'expansion, ou après la granulation, l'extrusion ou l'expansion, ou par une combinaison des points d'addition indiqués.
