ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method is provided for preparing a green composition having a pre- determined ratio of water to a powder of hydraulic substance wherein the hy- draulic substance is admixed with water and a fine aggregate. The method com- prises the following steps: preparing particles of the fine aggregate in which water is uniformly deposited on the entire surface thereof so as to exclude air voids, by adding a primary water to the particles in an amount necessary to optimize the percentage of the surface water on the particles; incorporating a powder of the hydraulic substance with the particles thus absorbing the powder of hydraulic substance with the surface of the particles to form shells about the particles, the shells having a smaller ratio of water to powder than the pre-determined ratio of the green composition; adding a secondary water to the shelled particles in an amount providing the remaining portion of the neces-sary water; and kneading the resulting mixture. After incorporating gravel, thereinto, the resulting green concrete can be moulded or blasted. The green concrete can be readily conveyed to a working station for constructing tunnels or buildings or the like. Since stable shells of cement are formed to sur- round sand particles, the green mortar is free from any segregation, precipi- tation and bleeding and has excellent fluidity so that it can safely be stored in a tank over a substantial interval of time or can be conveyed to a working station which is remote a considerable distance from a station at which O the green mortar or concrete is prepared.
