A high dropping point lithium complex soap grease is prepared by dissolving a monocarboxylic fatty acid and a dicarboxylic acid together in oil at a temperature above the boiling point of water and then neutralizing the resulting oil-acid mixture by adding a concen- trated aqueous solution of lithium hydroxide monohydrate.
