A method of preparing microparticles comprising an aqueous solution or dispersion of an oil or gas field production chemical encapsulated in a continuous polymeric phase comprising a degradable polymer, which method comprises: (a) preparing a water in oil in water double emulsion or a water in oil in oil double emulsion having an internal aqueous phase comprising an aqueous solution or dispersion of the production chemical and an internal oil phase comprising a solution of a degradable polymer dissolved in a volatile organic solvent wherein the internal aqueous phase is dispersed in the internal oil phase of the double emulsion in the form of droplets having a mean diameter of less than 10 microns; and (b) at least in part evaporating the volatile organic solvent from the double emulsion such that the degradable polymer accumulates around the droplets of the internal aqueous phase and hardens to form microparticles comprising a continuous polymeric phase encapsulating the internal aqueous phase having a mean particle diameter of less than 10 microns.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de préparation de microparticules comprenant une solution aqueuse ou une dispersion de produit chimique de champs de pétrole ou de gaz encapsulée dans une phase polymère continue comprenant un polymère dégradable. Ce procédé consiste: (a) à préparer une double émulsion eau dans huile dans eau ou une double émulsion eau dans huile dans huile possédant une phase aqueuse interne comprenant une solution aqueuse ou une dispersion de ce produit chimique et une phase huileuse interne comprenant une solution d'un polymère dégradable dissout dans un solvant organique volatil, cette phase aqueuse interne étant dispersée dans les phases huileuses internes de la double émulsion sous la forme de gouttelettes possédant un diamètre moyen inférieur à 10 microns, et (b) à évaporer au moins en partie le solvant organique volatil de la double émulsion de sorte que le polymère dégradable s'accumule autour des gouttelettes de la phase aqueuse interne et durcisse de façon à former des microparticules comprenant une phase polymère continue encapsulant la phase aqueuse interne dont le diamètre moyen de particule est inférieur à 10 microns.
