A method of offset printing wherein a layer of varnish or similar coating material is deposited onto a print drum and an ink image pattern layer is printed upon the varnish layer using a technique such as inkjet printing; the print drum transfers the ink layer onto a print substrate with a portion of the varnish layer thereupon, thus acting as a covering layer for the printed image.

La présente invention concerne un procédé d~impression offset dans lequel une couche de vernis ou d~un matériau de revêtement similaire est déposée sur un tambour d'impression et une couche de motif d~image d~encre est imprimée sur la couche de vernis au moyen d~une technique comme l~impression à jet d~encre ; le tambour d~impression transfère la couche d~encre sur un substrat d~impression avec une portion de la couche de vernis la recouvrant, agissant ainsi comme une couche de protection pour l~image imprimée.
