A method is proposed of processing packaging containing reactive residues. The packaging (13) is fed into a cold zone (2), cooled to a temperature at which the residues contained therein solidify and then shredded while in that cooled state (4). The shredded packaging material (13) is then divided into one fraction containing the reactive residues and at least one other fraction; the fraction containing the reactive residues is fed into a mixing zone (6) into which simultaneously an agent capable of reacting with the residues is also introduced, with a catalyst if appropriate, and the temperature in the mixing zone (6) is maintained at a level below the softening temperature of the residues and of the reactive agent. The resulting mixture of residue- containing fraction, reactive agent and (where appropriate) catalyst is conveyed to a reaction zone (7) at a temperature sufficiently high to allow a reaction and is there allowed to react.
L'invention concerne un procédé de traitement d'emballages contenant des résidus réactifs. Ce procédé consiste à introduire les emballages (13) dans une zone de refroidissement (2) où ils sont refroidis jusqu'à solidification des résidus, puis broyés (4) à l'état refroidi. Ensuite, les emballages broyés (13) sont séparés en une fraction contenant les résidus réactifs, et en au moins une autre fraction. La fraction contenant les résidus est introduite dans une zone de mélange (6) dans laquelle on introduit simultanément un agent pouvant réagir avec les résidus, et le cas échéant un catalyseur, la température dans la zone de mélange (6) étant maintenue en dessous de la température de ramollissement des résidus et de celle de l'agent réactif. Le mélange ainsi obtenu, comprenant la fraction contenant les résidus ainsi que l'agent réactif, et le cas échéant le catalyseur, est introduit à une température suffisante pour la réaction dans une zone de réaction (7) où on le laisse réagir.
