A method of processing wood oil which is generated during pulping. In the method, low molecular weight carboxyl acid that is approximately 0.5-5.0 % of the wood oil quantity (weight) is added to that wood oil early in its separation stage, in order to esterify the alcohol groups present in the wood oil, by the said acid. The protective esterification according to the present invention prevents the esterification of the alcohol groups by the fatty acids naturally present in the wood oil.
L'invention porte sur un procédé de traitement de l'huile de bois qui est générée pendant la réduction en pâte. Dans le procédé, un acide carboxylique de faible masse moléculaire, qui représente approximativement 0,5-5,0 % de la quantité d'huile de bois (masse), est ajouté à cette huile de bois de façon précoce dans son stade de séparation, afin d'estérifier les groupes alcool présents dans l'huile de bois, par ledit acide. L'estérification protectrice selon la présente invention empêche l'estérification des groupes alcool par les acides gras naturellement présents dans l'huile de bois.
