A method of processing a volatile organic compound is provided, wherein a volatile organic compound contained in gas to be treated is adsorbed in an adsorbent; the thus-adsorbed volatile organic compound is desorbed with the aid of steam and mixed in the steam; and the steam containing the volatile organic compound is combusted. This method further includes: separating a vessel for the adsorption and desorption into an inner side room and an outer side room by means of a separation member part of which is formed of the adsorbent; thermally retaining the vessel for the adsorption and desorption; at the time of adsorption, supplying the gas to be treated to the inner side room and therefrom to the outer side room; and at the time of desorption, supplying the steam to the outer side room and therefrom to the inner side room.
On fournit une méthode pour traiter un composé organique volatil, par laquelle un composé organique volatil contenu dans un gaz à traiter est adsorbé dans un adsorbant, après quoi il est désorbé à l'aide de vapeur et mélangé à celle-ci. La vapeur renfermant le composé organique volatil est ensuite consumée. Cette méthode prévoit aussi la séparation d'une enceinte pour l'adsorption et la désorption en une chambre interne et une chambre externe à l'aide d'une membrane dont une partie est constituée de l'adsorbant; la conservation thermique de cette enceinte pour l'adsorption et la désorption; au moment de l'adsorption, l'introduction du gaz à traiter dans la chambre interne et, à partir de là, dans la chambre externe; au moment de la désorption, l'introduction de vapeur dans la chambre externe et, à partir de là, dans la chambre interne.
