Abstract A method of producing a cup-shaped sterilisable container (10) from a stretch-drawable composite laminate (10') of a total wall thickness between 30 and 200 µm with an aluminium foil (14) of a thickness less than 40 µm, a sealable plastic inner layer ( 12 ) of high extensibility and a plastic outer layer (16) of high extensibility and load-bearing capacity, the side wall (17) of the container (10) running at a side wall angle (a) with respect to the direction perpendicular to the container bottom (15), is distinguished in that the composite laminate is deep drawn free from folds at a side wall angle of 30° using smooth-walled forming tools (20 or 30,22,24), then combined deep/stretch drawn and subsequently stretch drawn.
