ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of producing a shaft prosthesis equipped with grooves, with the cutting paths for the grooves extending in planes which intersect in a common center axis. The tips of the cutting paths whose cross section has a wedge shape are oriented toward this center axis and the number of cutting paths falling into an angular region having its vertex on the center axis increases with increasing distance of the surface from the center axis. The cutting paths extend in close proximity to one another and the cutting is effected by means of a wedge-shape milling cutter which mills a pros- thesis blank by completely removing its surface. The invention also relates to a prosthesis produced according to such a method. - 1 -
