ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process is provided for producing nutrient composition which includes adjusting the pH of an aqueous medium containing at least about 6 weight percent albumin to a level in the range of from about 9.6 to about 12.5 and thereafter heating the aqueous medium at a temperature effective to form albumin containing gels. The gels so produced can then be dried to form particulate nutrient feed compositions. The process provides for significant reduction of odors comonly associated with albumin containing materials, such as blood, and thus represents a pollution control measure. The nutrient composition can be used as animal feed supplements and plant fertilizer. 1.
