ABSTRACT Adhesive polyurethane or polyurea elastomeric film is produced on rubber articles by applying to the surface of the rubber article a prepolymer with reactive isocyanate end-groups and a polyaddition catalyst and chain- lengthening the prepolymer into an elastomeric film by the use of moisture. Improved film adhesion is obtained without loss of ductility.
