- 1 - Abstract: A method of producing color filters comprises forming a layer of an organic polymeric material having a predeter- mined light-sensitive characteristic on a substrate, exposing this layer to a predetermined pattern, developing the exposed portions of the layer to form a filter base and dyeing the filter base. The invention is characterised in that after the development of the exposed layer, it is wetted with a dehydrating solution to remove water. By this dehydrating treatment, the filter base can be processed with higher precision than has been possible hitherto.
