ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of producing a fiber-reinforced composite material comprising the steps of arranging a fiber shaped article in a cavity of a casting mold; pouring a molten metal acting as a matrix into the cavity and subjecting the molten metal to primary pressure; holding the molten metal under pressure for a predetermined period of time; and subjecting the molten metal, at least in proximity of one end of the fiber shaped article, to secondary pressure with a high hydrostatic pressure after the predetermined period of time has passed, to fill the molten metal into the fiber shaped article and integrate them.
