Abstract A method of producing fire resistant wood products wherein a plurality of thin wood strips, each having a multiplicity of uniformly close spaced surface indentations, are bonded together in a stack by a binder having fine particles of inert non- flammable material mixed therein to produce a laminated wood unit having a multiplicity of close spaced cavities throughout which are filled with a set binder containing non-flammable material.
