The invention relates to methods for producing flat chips for oriented strand wood materials. Said method comprises the following steps: a starting product is produced from material containing lignocellulose; the length of said starting product ranges from 20 to 200 mm; the starting product is subjected to a hydrothermal treatment; the treatment lasts at least three minutes and is carried out at a minimum temperature of 40°C; the starting product is cut or chopped.

L'invention concerne un procédé de production de copeaux de bois plats pour des produits en bois de particules orientées. Le procédé comprend les opérations suivantes: un produit semi-fini est réalisé à partir d'un matériau contenant de la lignocellulose, ce produit semi-fini ayant une longueur variant entre 20 et 200 mm; le produit semi-fini est soumis à un traitement hydrothermique qui agit pendant au moins 3 minutes à une température d'au moins 40°C; le produit semi-fini est alors transformé en copeaux ou fendu.
