A novel process for preparing fluoromethyl 1,1,1,1,3,3,3 hexafluoroisopropyl ether, which comprises bringing a polyether represented by the following general formula (1): R1 O(CH2 O)n R2 into contact with hydrogen fluoride and a medium comprising a reaction accelerator (wherein R1 and R2 are each independently hydrogen, C1-C10 alkyl or haloalkyl (wherein the halogen is fluorine, chlorine or bromine); and n is an integer of 1 to 10, with the proviso that both R1 and R2 do not represent hydrogen at the same time).

Un procédé nouveau pour préparer l'éther de fluorométhyle 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-isopropylique qui inclut la mise en contact d'un polyéther, représenté par la formule générale suivante (1), avec du fluorure d'hydrogène et un agent comprenant un accélérateur de réaction: R1O(CH2O)nR2 (1) (où R1 et R2 représentent chacun et de façon indépendante hydrogène, alkyle C1-C10 ou haloalkyle (dont l'halogène est le fluor, le chlore ou le brome) et où n est un nombre entier compris entre 1 et 10, et ce à la condition que R1 et R2 ne représentent pas l'hydrogène en même temps).
