Abstract of the Disclosure A high-strength steel pipe having a good weld- ability and adapted to be used in steam distribution pipelines in the oil sands (tar sands) development is disclosed. This steel pipe is obtained by heating a steel pipe having a specifically limited composition consisting of C, Si, Mn, Mo, V, A? and the remainder being Fe and incidental impurities at a temperature of not lower than the Ac3 point, quenching the above heated steel pipe and tempering the quenched steel pipe at a temperature within the range of from 600°C to the Ac1 point.
