There is described a method of producing plastic tops (1) for sealed containers of pourable food products; the method starts with a plastic sheet material having a layer of gas-barrier material, and includes the steps of forming a contoured body (11) having an annular base portion (2, 12), and a neck portion (3, 13), which projects from the base portion (2, 12), defines, with the base portion, a pour opening (5) of the container, and is closed, on the opposite side to the base portion (2, 12), by a disk-shaped member (15); applying a cap (8) to the neck portion (3, 13); making a cut (16) along the periphery of the disk-shaped member (15) and on the side facing the pour opening (5); and joining the disk-shaped member (15), by adhesion, to a portion (10) of the cap (8) superimposed on the disk-shaped member, so that the disk-shaped member (15) defines a layer of gas-barrier material of the cap (8).

L~invention concerne une méthode de fabrication de couvercles (1) en plastique pour récipients fermés hermétiquement de produits alimentaires coulants ; la méthode part d~un matériau de feuille plastique doté d~une couche barrière contre les gaz et comprend les étapes consistant à former un corps profilé (11) doté d~une section de base annulaire (2, 12) et d~une section de col (3, 13) qui fait saillie au-delà de la section de base (2, 12), définit, avec la section de base, une ouverture (5) de coulée pratiquée dans le récipient, et est fermée, du côté opposé à la section de base (2, 12), à l~aide d~un organe en forme de disque (15) ; mettre en place un capuchon (8) sur la section de col (3, 13) ; pratiquer une découpe (16) le long du pourtour de l~organe en forme de disque (15) et sur le côté faisant face à l~ouverture (5) de coulée ; et réunir par adhésion l~organe en forme de disque (15) à une section (10) du capuchon (8) superposée sur l~organe en forme de disque, de sorte que l~organe en forme de disque (15) définisse une couche de matériau de barrière contre les gaz du capuchon (8).
