ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The method of producing sulphuric acid consists in catalytic oxidation of sulphur dioxide by oxygen, isolation of sulphur trioxide from the resultant gas mixture with obtaining the end product, and returning unreacted sulphur dioxide to the oxidation stage. Said stages are effected under a pressure of from 2 to 20 atmospheres. The proposed method yields up to 15 tons of sulphuric acid per day per cubic metre of the process equipment, or 80 tons of the acid per day per cubic metre of the apparatus in which sulphur dioxide is oxidized. Charging of the wear-resistant vanadium catalyst is 5 to 6 kg per ton of H2SO4 of the daily output of the system.
