7822-MR Abstract of the Disclosure To obtain a xylanase rich enzyme solution containing a minimum of cellulose in an economical manner, xylanase producing microorganisms from the phyla of Trichoderma reseei, Aspergillus, Schizophyllum for example, are cultured on a substrate which consists of a waste liquor from the viscose process or waste water obtained from synthetic fiber cellulose bleaching with alkali extract and to which nutrient salts have been added. The broth is previously sterilized and neutralized and nitrogen source can be added where necessary. - 19 -
