A method for the recombinant production and for the isolation of antigen- specific glycosylation inhibiting factor (AgGIF) is provided. Also disclosed is a method for modulating the immune responses in an antigen-specific manner utilizing an AgGIF, comprising soluble non-specific GIF-TCR.alpha. chains which bind to the antigen, and which suppress the immune response in an antigen-specific fashion.

L'invention concerne la production recombinante et l'isolation d'un facteur bloquant la glycosylation spécifique de l'antigène (AgGIF). L'invention comprend aussi une méthode permettant de moduler les réactions immunitaires d'une façon spécifique de l'antigène à l'aide d'un AgGIF, contenant des chaines GIF-TcR.alpha. non spécifiques solubles, qui se lient à l'antigène et qui supprime la réaction immunitaire de façon spécifique de l'antigène.
