A METHOD OF PRODUCTION OF COLORED ALUMINIUM ARTICLES Abstract of the Disclosure The invention comprises an improved method for pro- ducing anodised aluminum articles colored by means of optical interference effects. The method comprises the steps of subjecting an aluminum article that has been anodised by conventional process to a treatment for modifying the pore structure of the anodic film, there- after subjecting it to a preliminary electrolytic treatment, in which it is connected as an anode, at a DC current to modify the barrier layer forming part of the anodic oxide film for modifying the barrier layer between the oxide and the metal substrate, and finally coloring the article now connected as a cathode in an electrolyte containing one or more metal salts using DC current on which a train of positive current pulses is superimposed.
