A process of producing a protease in a plant or in plant cells, comprising (a) providing a plant comprising a heterologous nucleotide sequence comprising a coding sequence encoding a fusion protein, said fusion protein comprising: an apoplast or plastid signal peptide; a SUMO protein or a derivative of a SUMO protein; and a zymogen of said protease, and (b) expressing said fusion protein.

L'invention porte sur un procédé de production d'une protéase dans une plante ou dans des cellules végétales consistant (a) à se procurer une plante comprenant une séquence nucléotidique hétérologue comprenant une séquence codante codant pour une protéine de fusion, ladite protéine de fusion comprenant : un peptide signal d'apoplasme ou de plaste ; une protéine SUMO ou un dérivé d'une protéine SUMO ; et un précurseur d'enzyme de ladite protéase, et (b) à exprimer ladite protéine de fusion.
