A method of protecting a substantially horizontal surface includes the steps of supplying a liquid impermeable film wherein the film carries an electric charge and trimming the film to a desired size. The trimmed film is applied to the substantially horizontal surface such that the film is retained thereon by the electric charge carried by the film and an object is placed on the trimmed film.

Un procédé de protection d'une surface sensiblement horizontale comprend les étapes suivantes: on utilise un film imperméable aux liquides qui est électriquement chargé puis on coupe le film à la dimension désirée, on applique ensuite le film coupé sur la surface sensiblement horizontale de sorte que le film soit retenu sur cette dernière par la charge électrique du film, puis on place un objet sur le film coupé.
