A process for the preparation of crystals of an adduct of a bisphenol with a phenol which comprises: (a) adding an inert volatile liquid aliphatic hydrocarbon diluent and 0-1.5% weight water to a crude mixture of the bisphenol and the phenol at a temperature above the boiling temperature of the added volatile liquid diluent; and (b) allowing the volatile liquid diluent to boil in the process, thereby cooling the resulting mixture of bisphenol and phenol to a temperature at which adduct crystals form.

Méthode pour la préparation de cristaux d'un produit d'addition d'un bisphénol avec un phénol, consistant à : a) ajouter un diluant à base d'un composé aliphatique inerte volatil et de 0-1,5 % en poids d'eau à un mélange brut du bisphénol et de phénol à une température supérieure au point d'ébullition du diluant volatil liquide ajouté; b) laisser le diluant liquide volatil bouillir au cours du procédé, ce qui a comme effet de refroidir le mélange résultant de bisphénol et de phénol à une température à laquelle se forment les cristaux du produit d'addition.
