26053-51 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to a method of quantitative assay for 1,5-anhydroglucitol which comprises oxidizing 1,5- anhydroglucitol in an aqueous solution of a specimen in the presence of an electron acceptor to produce a compound represented by formula (1) below or a hydrate thereof represented by formula (2) below, and quantitatively determining 1,5- anhydroglucitol from either the consumption amount of electron acceptor consumed, or from the amount of the reduction product of said electron acceptor produced, or from an amount of oxidized product of 1,5-AG represented by formula (1) or formula (2), in the aqueous specimen solution.
