Money is raised for a charitable cause or non-profit organization by selling decorative ornaments which comprise a translucent container - usually, a clear spherical object such as a Christmas tree ornament - and placing inside it a specific logo, indicium, or inspirational or motivational slogan, which is identified with a specific charitable cause or non-profit organization. The net proceeds obtained from selling the decorative ornaments having in their interior a specific logo, indicium, or inspirational or motivational slogan, for a specific charitable cause or non-profit organization are then turned over to that charitable cause or non-profit organization. Thus, a long lasting and relatively valuable ornament is exchanged for a gift of money to a specific charitable cause or non-profit organization, and the logo, indicium, or inspirational or motivational slogan, of that specific charitable cause or non-profit organization is prominently displayed within the decorative ornament, but does not comprise the ornament itself.
