ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of recovering both silver and a base for sensi- tive material in a reusable condition from sensitive material, such as a film or photographic printing paper, with surface having gelatin including fine silver crystal by utilizing micro-organisms. Since mixture of bacteria including gelatin activated - mutant bacteria degradades the gelatin membrane but does not harm the base of sensitive material, both silver and the base may be re- covered in a reusable condition.
