A method of recovering hydrocarbon fluid from an underground formation utilizes a triangular pattern of substantially parallel horizontal production well sections (1 and 2) and a fluid injection well section (5) from which a plurality of lateral branches (6) extend through the formation towards the production well sections (1 and 2). The presence of the lateral branches (6) allows a controlled fluid injection into the formation and a relatively wide spacing between the production well sections (1 and 2).
