A method of reducing hydrolysis in a hydrocarbon stream comprising adding to a hydrocarbon stream containing a chloride compound which undergoes hydrolysis at elevated temperatures in the presence of water to form hydrochloric acid, an effective amount of a treating agent that is at least one overbased complex of a metal salt and an organic acid complexing agent, the treating agent being added to hydrocarbon stream when the stream is at a temperature below which any substantial hydrolysis of the chloride containing compound occurs.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de réduire l'hydrolyse dans un flux d'hydrocarbures. Ce procédé consiste à ajouter à un flux d'hydrocarbures contenant un composé de chlorure subissant une hydrolyse à des températures élevées en présence d'eau entraînant la formation d'un acide hydrochlorique, une quantité efficace d'un agent de traitement comprenant au moins un complexe ultrabasique d'un sel métallique, et un agent complexant de type acide organique, l'agent de traitement étant ajouté au flux d'hydrocarbures lorsque le flux se trouve à une température inférieure à la température à laquelle une hydrolyse substantielle du composé contenant du chlorure se produit.
