The invention relates to a method of reducing noise emissions at the rear of a turboshaft engine and to a turboshaft engine thus improved. Selon l'invention, l'épaisseur de la partie arrière (9R) du revêtement d'atténuation sonore, porté intérieurement par le capot externe (10) de soufflante, est augmentée du côté de la partie avant (9A) et la zone (18) à épaisseur ainsi augmentée est raccordée à la partie dudit revêtement se trouvant dans la zone critique (15) de la tuyère (12) par un profil d'inflexion (20).
