This invention concerns a method of reducing the gaping values of railway tracks made of steel to less than 3.6 mm. It is characteristic of this invention that the rolled and leveled rails are heated briefly, i.e., for approx. 10 to 25 sec, until reaching a maximum temperature of 100°C in the rail head and a maximum of 260°C in the web, and then they are allowed to cool again immediately.
La présente invention porte sur une méthode permettant de réduire les valeurs d'écartement des rails de chemin de fer fabriqués en acier à moins de 3,6 mm. Une caractéristique de cette invention consiste à chauffer brièvement, soit pendant 10 à 25 secondes environ, les rails laminés et stabilisés jusqu'à ce qu'ils atteignent une température maximale de 100 degrés Celsius au niveau de la tête des rails et une température maximale de 260 degrés Celsius au niveau de l'âme des rails, avant de les faire refroidir rapidement.
