The use of one or more alkali metals, preferably sodium, to remove sulfur from hydrocarbon streams containing up to 100 wppm sulfur. The hydrocarbon stream is introduced into a reactor where it is contacted with one or more alkali metals. The treated hydrocarbon stream is then subjected to a water wash thereby resulting in an aqueous phase fraction and a hydrocarbon phase fraction. The aqueous phase fraction, which is separated from the hydrocarbon phase fraction, contains water-soluble sodium moieties.
La présente invention concerne l~utilisation d~un ou plusieurs métaux alcalins, de préférence du sodium, en vue d~enlever le soufre des flux d~hydrocarbure contenant jusqu~à 100 wppm de soufre. Le flux d~hydrocarbure est introduit dans un réacteur au sein duquel il est mis en contact avec un ou plusieurs métaux alcalins. Le flux d~hydrocarbure traité est ensuite soumis à un lavage à l~eau, permettant ainsi l~obtention d~une fraction de phase aqueuse et une fraction de phase d~hydrocarbure. La fraction de phase aqueuse, qui est séparée de la fraction de phase d~hydrocarbure, contient des fragments de sodium hydrosoluble.
