A method of resizing a liquid crystal display (LCD) includes the steps of first determining a desired size (37) for the LCD, thereby identifying an undesired portion of the LCD (38). Any tape automated bonding strips (TABs) (62) corresponding to the undesired portions of the LCD (38) are then removed. Any flex circuits (138), or portion thereof, corresponding to the undesired portion of the LCD (38) are cut and removed. Any circuit boards (66), or portions thereof, corresponding to the undesired portion of the LCD (38) are cut and removed. The display panel (50) is cut to remove a portion of the display panel corresponding to the undesired portion of the LCD (38). Finally, the cut edge of the display panel is sealed.
L'invention concerne un procédé de redimensionnement d'un affichage à cristaux liquides (LCD) qui consiste à déterminer en premier la taille recherchée (37) du LCD, permettant ainsi d'identifier une partie inutile du LCD (38), à éliminer des morceaux à transfert automatique sur bande (TAB) (62), à découper et à éliminer tout circuit imprimé souple (138), ou des parties de ces circuits, et à découper et à éliminer toute cartes de circuits imprimés (66), ou des parties de ces cartes, qui correspondent tous à la partie inutile du LCD (38). Puis, le panneau d'affichage (50) est découpé afin d'éliminer une partie qui correspond à la partie inutile du LCD (38). Enfin, le bord du panneau d'affichage découpé est rendu hermétique.
