TITLE A METHOD OF SANDBLASTING USING MOIST SAND, AND SANDBLASTING APPARATUS FOR CARRYING OUT SUCH METHOD INVENTOR Josef KEIZERS ABSTRACT A sandblasting apparatus incorporating a novel blas- ting nozzle for moist sand is connected to a pressure vessel via hose and the blasting nozzle is connected to an additional or auxiliary propellent line including a propelling or driving nozzle into which the hose for the water and sand mixture opens. This apparatus includes an inlet port for sand water mixture downstream from the propelling nozzle throughwhich the auxiliary propellent flows. In underwater sandblasting appli- cation an opening for the propellent through which the propel- lent can flow out is also provided. The invention also dis- closes a novel method of sandblasting using moist sand in that water and sand are mixed within a pressure vessel and there- after delivered to the blasting nozzle under pressure while an auxiliary propellent is supplied within the blasting nozzle.
