ABSTRACT The method of joining and sealing a wrought aluminum hot water generator with the cover and the die casting forming walls of a hot water channel wherein a weld bead is laid on top of and between the cover and the die casting. The weld bead is then compressed by a flat steel plate to squeeze out any small pockets of gas that could destroy the water tight integrity of the weld.
