This invention relates to a method of sealing in a water-impermeable manner, the connecting region between a waterproof shoe upper and the insole region of a shoe by means of a layer of liquefiable material that is waterproof in the hardened state. The layer is injection molded onto the connecting region with the aid of an injection mold, characterized in that the injection mold is applied to the bottom sole of the shoe upper, connected to the insole region. The mold has sealing lip assembly upstanding towards the insole region and extends on both sides of the connecting region to be sealed so that the layer is injection molded into the portion confined by the sealing lip assembly. -10-
