A description is given of a method of sealing the join between the two tapes (2, 3) to which the teeth (4, 5) of a waterproof zip (1) are attached and two edges of a garment composed of a first or waterproof layer (7) and a second or fabric layer (8), these layers being superimposed on each other, which comprises the following steps: a) applying, to a first side (2e, 3e) of each of the said two tapes (2, 3), a strip (9) of heat-weldable textile material attached to it, by at least one weld line (L) formed along a longitudinal line, in such a way that each strip (9) comprises a first unattached flap (9f) and a second unattached flap (9s), one on each side of the said weld line (L) and both parallel to the lines of teeth (4, 5) of the zip (1); b) welding the edge of the said first or waterproof layer (7) to one face of the flap (9s) furthest from the teeth (4, 5) of the zip (1); c) attaching the edge of the said second layer (8) to the second side (2i, 3i) of each of the said tapes (2, 3) by means of a seam (K) in an area (Z) situated between the said weld line (L) and the zip (6); d) folding down the flap (9f) nearest to the teeth (4, 5) of the zip (1) so that it lies parallel against the said first side (2e, 3e) of the corresponding tape (2, 3) and entirely covers the said area (Z); and e) forming another weld (N) that hermetically joins the outline of the outer edges of the flap (9f) to .1 the corresponding tape (2, 3) around the said area (Z).
Cette invention concerne un procédé de réalisation d'une liaison hermétique entre les deux bandes (2, 3) sur lesquelles sont fixées les dents (4, 5) d'une fermeture à glissière étanche (1) et les deux bords du vêtement constitués par une première couche étanche (7) et une seconde couche de tissu (8) superposées l'une à l'autre. Ce procédé consiste à : a) appliquer, sur un premier côté (2e, 3e) de chacune des deux bandes (2, 3), un lé (9) de matériau textile thermo-soudable fixé par au moins une ligne de soudure (L) le long d'une ligne longitudinale de telle sorte que chaque lé (9) comprenne une premier rabat libre (9f) et un second rabat libre (9f) disposés chacun de part et d'autre de ladite ligne de soudure et tout deux parallèle aux lignes des dents (4, 5) de la fermeture à glissière (1); b) souder le bord de ladite première couche imperméable (7) sur l'une des faces du rabat (9s), ceci le plus loin possible des dents (4, 5) de la fermeture à glissière (1); c) fixer le bord de ladite seconde couche (8) sur le second bord (2i, 3i) de chacune des bandes (2, 3) par une couture (K) dans la zone (Z) située entre ladite ligne de soudure (L) et la fermeture à glissière (1); d) replier le rabat (9f) le plus près possible des dents (4, 5) de la fermeture à glissière (1) de sorte qu'il soit parallèle au premier bord (2e, 3e) de la bande correspondante (2, 3) et recouvre entièrement ladite zone (Z); et e) réaliser une autre soudure (N) joignant hermétiquement le pourtour des bords extérieurs du rabat (9f) au bord correspondant (2, 3) autour de ladite zone (Z).
