A system and method for minimizing timeouts when enhanced services are requested through a digital home communications terminal (DHCT) requiring discovery of a service group identification (SGID) assigned to the DHCT. A service group map (SGM) includes a plurality of entries. Each entry includes a frequency, a tabulated transport stream identification (TSID), and a SGID associated with one another. The SGM has multiple occurrences of the same frequencies. At least a portion of the entries within the SGM are arranged in an ordered manner and then searched in other than a sequential manner to find matching tabulated and acquired TSIDs.

L'invention concerne un système et un procédé pour réduire au minimum les délais d'attente lorsque des services évolués sont requis via un terminal de communication numérique à domicile (DHCT) et demandent la découverte d'une identification de groupes de services (SGID) attribués à ce DHCT. Une carte de groupes de services (SGM) comprend une pluralité d'entrées. Chaque entrée comprend une fréquence, une identification de flux de transport sous forme de table (TSID), et une SGID, associées les unes aux autres. La SGM comprend des apparitions multiples des mêmes fréquences. On dispose au moins une partie des entrées à l'intérieur de la SGM de manière ordonnée et l'on effectue une recherche d'une manière non séquentielle pour trouver des TSID mises sous forme de tables et acquises correspondantes.
