An optical fibre is secured to an electronic package (10) by, firstly, providing in a wall (14) of the package (10) an electrically conductive tube (12), an inductance arrangement (16-22) in magnetically co-operational relation to the tube (12) and a securing agent inside the tube, then secondly inserting the fibre into the tube (12) and passing an RF current through the inductance arrangement (16). The current is such as to melt the securing agent and, when the securing agent is allowed to cool, a bond is formed between the fibre and the tube (12). The package (10) is preferably an LTCC multilayer package with the inductance (16) being formed in adjacent layers and the tube (12) is preferably composed of a metallic ink which is supplied to a stepwise- circular cylindrical cavity likewise formed in adjacent layers.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de fixer une fibre optique à un module électronique (10) consistant premièrement à disposer, dans une paroi (14) du module (10), un tube (12) électroconducteur, un dispositif à inductance (16-22) relié au tube (12) de manière qu'il coopère magnétiquement avec ce dernier et un agent de fixation situé à l'intérieur du tube, et deuxièmement à insérer la fibre dans le tube (12) et à faire passer un courant RF à travers le dispositif à inductance (16). Le courant est tel qu'il fait fondre l'agent de fixation, et lorsque ce dernier a refroidi, une liaison est formée entre la fibre et le tube (12). Le module (10) est de préférence un module multicouche de céramique cocuite à basse température (LTCC), l'inductance (16) étant formée dans des couches adjacentes, et le tube (12) est composé de préférence d'une encre métallique qui est appliquée à une cavité cylindrique circulaire progressive également formée dans des couches adjacentes.
