A method of selecting a contest round winner from a plurality of contest round entrants according to the present invention can be utilized, for example, in fund raising activities. The method of the present invention requires the active participation of the entrants, and the method provides entertainment for both entrants and spectators alike. Entrants purchase contest tokens having unique identification indicia marked thereon, and, in response to a start signal, the contest round entrants throw the contest tokens toward an identified target. The contest token which lands relatively closest to the target is declared to be the winning token, and the purchaser thereof is determined to be the contest round winning entrant. The contest may be repeated according to the present invention on a plurality of occasions in order to select a plurality of winning entrants, and then a champion may be selected from amongst the winning entrants by a subsequent championship round of the contest. The identified target may be changed in the championship round of the contest.
La présente invention permet de sélectionner un gagnant parmi un certain nombre de participants à un concours organisé, par exemple, à l'occasion d'activités de collecte de fonds. La présente méthode requiert la participation active des concurrents. Elle est divertissante autant pour les participants que pour les spectateurs. Pour participer, il suffit d'acheter des jetons sur lesquels figurent des inscriptions uniques. En réponse à un signal de départ, les participants lancent les jetons en direction d'une cible préétablie. Le jeton qui tombe le plus près de la cible est déclaré gagnant, et son propriétaire remporte la manche. Le concours peut se répéter un certain nombre de fois, afin de sélectionner une série de gagnants qui participeront à une manche finale pour la sélection d'un grand gagnant. La cible peut être changée pour cette dernière manche.
