Abstract of the Disclosure A method of removing an organic solvent from a mixture that includes a compound having a polypeptide segment and the organic solvent, the method including the steps of contacting the mixture with an ion exchange resin under conditions that allow the compound to bond to the resin; and washing the resin with a first aqueous solution that elutes the organic solvent from the resin while allowing the compound to remain bound to the resin.
