This invention provides a method for the treatment of shot peening by which a high residual compressive-stress can be given, while having the surface roughness of the treated article be low even when a metal substance with a high hardness is used. That is to say, this invention is related to a method for the treatment of shot peening wherein a peening material having a Vickers hardness (Hv) in the range of 900-1100 and a Young's modulus of 200,000 MPa or less, is used, and wherein a treated article is obtained by such a method that has a maximum residual compressive-stress of 1600 MPa or more and a surface roughness of 5 microns or less.
L'invention concerne un procédé de projection d'abrasifs par voie sèche, caractérisé en ce qu'on utilise un matériau de grenaillage possédant une dureté Vickers (Hv) comprise entre 900 et 1100 et un module d'Young de 200 000 Mpa ou moins. L'invention concerne également un article traité au moyen dudit procédé et possédant une contrainte résiduelle de compression maximum de 160 Mpa ou plus et une rugosité de surface de 5 mu m ou moins. Ce procédé permet d'améliorer une contrainte résiduelle de compression même sur un matériau métallique possédant une dureté élevée associée à une rugosité de surface réduite.
