ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A stainless steel powder is mixed with at least a Mi-Mn and a Ni-Cr powder, and the powder mixture is formed by loose packing into a required configuration. The powder mixture is sintered in a non-oxidizing atmosphere at the melting point of the Ni-Mn powder or at a higher temperature thereby to obtain a porous body. -1-
