The invention relates to a spinning head (8) for spinning a spinning solution, having a tubular, thin walled spinning capillary (7) with an outlet (94). A mixture consisting of, for instance, cellulose, tertiary amine oxide and water is used as spinning solution. In order to reduce the tendency to fibrillation of the fibers spun by the spinning head and to enhance loop efficiency, the spinning capillary (7) is directly heated in the vicinity of the cross section of the outlet (94). By implementing this simple measure, tendency to fibrillation can be reduced and loop efficiency can be increased.
