Fabrics are treated in home drying machines to reduce static electricity carried by the fabrics, soften the fabrics and improve other fabric properties. A segment of circular knitted yarn having a ground yarn surface and terry loops extending from the ground yarn surface and a carbon strand knitted with the yarn and in the ground yarn surface terry loops of the tube will conduct and dissipate eletrostatic charges from the textile garments being laundered. The terry loops provide an effective yarn surface and the carbon strand prevents electrostatic discharge and suppresses or avoids the effects of static electricity otherwise accumulated on the textile garments being dried in a rotary dryer being used in the home.
